Homemade Hairmasks ~ Recipes

Hello!
Today I will talk about my homemade hairmasks. If you like to spoil your hair like I do, I'm sure you will enjoy.
Have you ever felt like your hair needed moisture and you are in desperately need for a hair mask? But Alas! You don't have money to buy one right now. Or you really just want to go natural.
I'm giving you a solution.
I usually mix some of my conditioner with the masks, but you don't really need to do that. Also, organic stuff will work better.
With everymask what you have to do is mix everything and put on your hair (you can apply it on your hair while wet, I don't do that though), I would recommend you to leave the mask for 20m in the first application since every hair is different and will react accordingly to that. If don't see a great improvement leave it for a little more time next time. Also, use a shower cap.
Remember one thing, my hair is medium and I have lots of it, so if you have long hair double the amount of ingredients and if you have short hair use only half.
And don't rinse the hairmasks with warm water but with diluted shampoo. After you do that, you can rinse it like you do when you wash your hair.

Honey Goodness
1. Honey and Cinnamon exfoliator hairmask - My Favorite!
For oily hair, if you want to lighten it up;
This mask will remove impurities and will naturally lighten your hair, while moisturing it.
AMAZING

You will need:
4 tablespoons of honey
4 tablespoons of water
1 tablespoon of cinnamon

If you want, you can use apple cider vinegar instead of water if you have really oily hair

2. Honey and Olive Oil
For dry, damaged and dehydrating hair;
As you know, honey is really sticky so olive oil will loosen the honey. Olive oil will add extra moisture to you hair, while leaving it silky.

You will need:
3 tablespoons of honey
4 tablespoons of olive oil

3. Banana and honey
For thin damaged hair;
The potassium present in bananas makes your hair stronger without weighing it down

You will need:
1 ripe banana
2 tablespoons of honey
You have to use a blender for this one, mix the two ingredients until you have a liquified mixture without no chunks, unless you want your hair with banana chuncks for the rest of the day.

4. Milk and Honey
For all types of hair;
This is an easy way for your hair to absorve all the moisture and benefits honey have

You will need:
A cup of milk
2 tablespoons of honey
You can use warm milk and then rinse this mask with cold water.

Things you would usually eat
1. Eggs
For all the types of hair;
adds shine and boosts your natural hair color.
You just have to beat the eggs and put them on your hair, very simple. I recommend to use this mask only once a month.
Or, you use the egg yolks if your hair is dry and needs a lot of moisture. And if you have oily hair like me, use only the egg whites. This ones you can use a couple of times per month or more.

2. Mayo
If you want shiny hair;
Mayo has an oily base so your hair will get really moisturized
This one is really simple, just rub mayo all over your hair. Your hair should be damp when you do this.
For an extra boost add an egg, or only the yolk or only the white. Your choice!

3. Natural Yogurt
For normal to oily hair;
Yogurt moistures your hair but at the same time washes away the excess of oil in the scalp
Just like mayo, rub it all over your hair. You can add a couple of tablespoons of honey and apple cider vinegar for a boost.

4. Avocado
For dry, brittle hair;
Avocado has great moisturizing properties and will make your dull hair alive again!

You will need:
One half of a ripe avocado
1 tablespoon of olive oil
4 tablespoons of milk

Blend, blend and blend. You should get a creamy mixture, don't put too much milk or else it will get really drippy.

* * *

And that's it for today!
Enjoy your new, all natural hair :)
I might do a post with tips to lighten you hair or with more hair treatments, I'm still not sure of what should I do first.
If you have any requests feel free to contact me.
And thanks for reading.

Little Oily Miracles ~ Hair Care

So, since I'm sick and stuck inside my house, I've decided to do a post about hair care and what I usually do to take care of my hair.
Recently, I've made a post about coconut oil, I've been using it once a week or a couple of weeks, it depends, if I see that my hair is falling a little bit more I use it. And it's been working quite good. I can see new hairs growing! They are about 1cm long, I'm really happy about it.
I don't have hair loss issues but my hair was bleached, so it's not as strong as usual and it falls A LOT.
Now I have been trying castor oil, pure, the texture it's a lot like honey so I will have dilute it with other oil.
I'm still studying the options but once I get to know this oil better I will probably sell oil blends for different types of hair and uses!
I was thinking about doing a macassar oil recreatition, which was used to style the hair in the Victorian Era. I thought also about doing an oil to hair growth (as pure as it can get!), another one for hair growth but to everyday use, for grooming or brushing, you choose. Another one for dry hair, that would be a mixture of coconut oil with vitamin E oil. Also one for brittle hair that would be to use weekly like hair mask. I have so many ideas and oils! And if you are lucky enough to have your hair in good shape, you can also get jasmin scented oil to help while brushing your hair, or almond oil!
I am looking forward to try them all and start selling them. The price range would be as low as possible, but keep in mind that I only buy bio oils and man, they are PURE.
The stuff you see in the supermarket has a lot of alcohol and things your hair doesn't need and that can possibly harm it. I mean, why would you spray oil into your hair? That sounds really strange, don't you think? Oil should be oil, not a liquid that evaporates easily > ALCOHOL ALERT
And trust me, you don't want alcohol in your hair, unless you want to ruin it.
Now,

Questions you should be asking:

Why do you want to sell oils?
I want to sell oils not just because I need money, but because I want to share their amazingness!
I just graduated and I can't find a proper job so I'm hoping that my necklaces and oils sell enough for me to get a little bit of money. Also, I love doing stuff like this, I would love to see people using the things I've made, and that I do with so much love and care. I guess nowadays you have to do things for love and not for money, otherwise, you get really miserable and unhappy.

What makes those oils better than the ones at the supermarket?
My oils are pure and bio, they are from India and the UK. They have nothing added, Vitamin E is the only thing I will add and that acts as a preserver. And that's pretty much the only thing they need. My oils have a good shelf duration, as long as you proper storage them. They don't like the sunlight or extreme heat, you can leave them in your fridge if you want. But beware, they also are sensite to temperature changes, so it's better if you leave them at a cool and dark place.

What about the price? How much would they cost?
The price range really depends on the price I got the oil, jojoba oil is really expensive comparing to coconut oil for example. I will have that in mind and also the price for the containers of the oil, they are already on its way. And guess what, they have a pump! Since I've been using oils on my hair the thing that really bugged me was the way they came, in a syrup container. You have to put everything in your hand before you put it in your hair and it gets really messy. So, yeah, pump it's a REALLY good option to avoid getting messy.
Anyway, back to the price, I'm thinking that the most expensive oil (macassar recreation) would be like 12,5€ for 50ml which isn't much for a pure bio, undiluted, oil and without the harming stuff most serums/oils have nowadays.

Do they really work?
HELL YES! Otherwise I wouldn't start this oily quest to bring the best oils and oil blends to you!
I have been trying all of them before I start to sell them, I am selling stuff I know it works.
If you are not convinced you can do a google search about the oils.
I will talk about each one of them in a future post, I just need to know which ones to start.
And remember, all of my oils can be used in your skin also. The ones for hair growth can be used in your eyebrows too! And eyelashes, the best thing, they do really make a difference and you will notice once you use them!

*EDIT* So, how do you use the oils in you hair?
I explained my routine in the post about coconut oil, but now I've been also adding castor oil to my hairline. And I leave it overnight as usual. You can also use coconut oil to groom your hair, just by adding a few drops of oil to your ends and lenght, it works as a heat protector and prevents split ends.

And, please, please leave a comment telling me what types of oils you would want and how much you would be willing to pay for them. I really need some feedback on this.
Thank you!

Coconut Oil Goodness

Today I will be talking about what I have been doing to make my hair healthier.
In the end of October 2013 I bleached my hair with 40v, I really wanted platinum blonde hair.
But... I had been rocking bright red for years straight so what I really got was a banana blonde hair. REALLY.
Only my roots were white, my hairdresser said that if I used violet shampoo I'd get it well toned. I waited two weeks using it but it still looked like a banana so I decided to dye it with dark blonde, which is my natural hair color.
When I did it, I used coconut oil to protect my hair. A friend of mine told me about how good it was and how she used it to keep her hair shiny and healthy. She bleached her hair a lot so I decided I should give it a try.

What I did:
> Melt the coconut oil in its jar with hot water
> Proceed to apply it with my hands and then brush my hair
> Wait for at least an hour
> Apply the hair dye without rinsing the coconut oil

The results were a really shiny and soft hair. I was expecting my hair to be dried because the dye I used was permanent and my hair was bleached just a few weeks ago, but it was not!

After dying my hair dark blonde using coconut oil

Nowadays I use unrefined coconut oil as an hair mask, it gives your hair protein so be carefull, if you don't moisturize your hair it will break.

How I recommend coconut oil hair treatment:
> Melt the coconut oil
> Apply it to your hair
> Put a shower cap
> Leave it overnight
To rinse the coconut oil you should:
- Mix water with shampoo ( I use shampoo for dry hair for this)
- Apply it and massage
- Shampoo your hair like you usually do
- Rinse with warm water

This has been doing the trick for me, I do it at least 2 times per month. My hair is bleached but the damage is barely visible now. I don't believe much in hair reconstructors making you hair healthy again, I think they just hide the damage. But coconut oil, this really works and it's natural. Of course it's not a miracle, but the damage gets barely visible and you don't have to use it everytime you wash your hair. I mean, you can cook with this so it's safe for you to put it in your hair, right?

Coconut oil has lauric acid and lots of fatty acids, it's unknown how the process works but this oil, like henna, penetrates deep in our hair and makes it healthier. It's also really good for hair growth and hair loss.
I've been using it for a couple of months and I can say my hair loss is minimum now, it's the second time in my life that I have bleached my hair and the first time I did it, I started to lose lots of hair and this time my hair falls less than when I had my hair red (and it wasn't bleached).
About the hair growth I still don't know if it's helping me or not, my hair always grows fast.
Also, the coconut oil is really good for your skin.

Everyone should try it!

This is the one I've been using
